The Electrical Engineering curriculum produces well educated graduates prepared to practice engineering at a professional level in an era of rapid and challenging technological development. The goal of the professional portion of the curriculum is to emphasize basic areas of study while providing the flexibility to accommodate a diversity of interests and talents. To this end, the curriculum emphasizes engineering design, hands-on laboratory experience, knowledgeable use of digital computer systems, oral and written communication skills, the importance of business, economic, social and global forces on engineering, appreciation of the need to maintain the highest ethical standards, and the maintenance of professional competence through continued self-improvement after graduation.

Applicants should be a high school graduate. They should have the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores; official transcripts or official records with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students whose native is not English should have the TOEFL with minimum scores of 213 for new computerized test and 550 for the written paper-based test.
