The specializations within this concentration prepare students to meet the information needs of users by providing services, instruction, and leadership, and by organizing information in user-centered ways.

Florida State University has established minimum graduate admission requirements, including a grade-point average of 3.0 in the last two years of the undergraduate program, or an earned graduate degree from an accredited institution, or a score of 1000 on the combined verbal and quantitative portions of the Graduate Record Examination. In addition, a TOEFL score of at least 550 on the paper version (213 on the computerized test or 80 on the internet version) is required of international students whose native language is other than English. In addition to these requirements, a departmental application form must be submitted, as well as three letters of recommendation and a statement of purpose. Applications for admission to the Measurement and Statistics program are reviewed for strength of letters of recommendation, compatibility of applicant's professional goals to capabilities of the program, and enrollment limitations of the program. Applicants are also encouraged to submit a resume and copies of any papers, reports or materials they may have authored which are relevant to their application. Applications are received and reviewed at any time during the year, but admission in the Fall Semester is preferred. The program will review applications from individuals who do not meet minimum University admissions requirements only when indicators such as particularly successful professional experiences support the candidate's probable success within the program.

In addition to these, they must submit two copies of official transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, and/or certificates sent directly from each post-secondary institution attended, Statement of Purpose (letter of intent), Resume or Curriculum Vitae, Letters of Recommendation, Audition or Portfolio, Application for Fellowship or Assistantship, Official GRE or GMAT score and TOEFL (institutional code for Florida State University is 5219) score for international students.
