Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) The major in Interior Design follows a curriculum that culminates in the degree Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). Students entering the BFA major have a common core with Architecture majors in the first year. In the second year, a group of common courses for both majors ensures that Interior Design students have an understanding of fundamental architectural issues including programming, building structure and envelope, building materials, mechanical systems, and lighting before beginning to study the organization of interior space as a specialty. The common core makes it possible for students in either track to move with little difficulty from one program to the other before the second year.

Basic requirements for admission as an international student to a bachelor's degree program include the following: Completion of formal secondary education in a pre-university curriculum: This education must culminate in the award of a diploma or the issuance of a leaving certificate or matriculation certificate generally recognized as the educational qualification necessary for admission to higher studies. International students whose native language is not English should have earned either a minimum score of 200 on the computer-based TOEFL, a score of 530 on the paper-based test, or a score of 72 on the Internet-based version. Documentation of financial support adequate to cover all educational and living expenses: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores (if applicable): These are required only of students that are international first-year (freshman) applicants from Canada, student athletes who must comply with NCAA eligibility requirements, and those who have attended a U.S. high school or secondary school in another country that follows a U.S. high school curriculum.

Application with $45 Application fee, is payable by money order to the Graduate School. Applicants are required to submit an official record listing all courses taken, the grade received in each course, and the dates of attendance. Students are required to submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or provide alternative evidence of English language proficiency. Photocopies and notarized copies are NOT accepted; however, documents can be certified as true copies by a U.S. Consular official or by a recognized educational authority in the home country. Statement of Purpose, Professional Resume, Statement of Proof of Financial support. Academic records must be submitted on official stationery of the school(s) attended and are to include the name and address of the institution. If English is not the language of instruction at the school(s) attended, must submit the official records in the original language accompanied by a literal (not interpretive) certified English translation. This translation must bear the actual signature in ink and the seal or stamp of an official translator if not issued by school authorities. The academic records must list the courses completed in each year during all previous years of secondary study. The grades or marks earned in each subject as well as dates of attendance must also be listed on the academic records. If students is already been awarded a secondary school diploma or certificate, they must submit proof that they have earned this educational qualification. To be considered official, all academic records, including copies of certificates or diplomas earned and all external examination results must bear the original seal or stamp and signature in ink of the person who is authorized to certify or issue such documents. Copies of documents may also be certified as true copies by a recognized educational authority in home country.
