Option I leads to the master of interior architecture (M.I.Arch.) as a postprofessional degree. Options II and III lead to the M.I.Arch. as a professional degree. The Option II program, which is typically completed in six terms, is for applicants who have a four-year degree in interior design. The Option III program is usually completed in ten terms, and applicants must have a B.S. or B.A. degree at entrance.

Academic requirements: For admission to the University of Oregon, student must meet academic and English language requirements. For freshman-level admission, student must have a high school (secondary school) completion certificate with satisfactory grades. When making admission decisions, the characteristics of the national system of education and the level of study completed are taken into consideration. If native language is not English, student must submit results of a standardized language test. For undergraduate admission to the UO, student must have a minimum score from one of the standardized tests below: TOEFL: A minimum score of 500 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), 173 on the computer-based TOEFL, or 61 on the internet-based TOEFL; IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Minimum score 6.0. International students are not required to submit SAT Reasoning Test or ACT scores for admission to the UO. An exception to this is the architecture major, which requires an SAT Reasoning Test score. All international students must take an English language placement test during the International Student Orientation. Based on the placement test result, student may be required to take additional language-training in the Academic English for International Students (AEIS) program. Students placed in AEIS courses may also enroll in regular academic courses. As an undergraduate student may apply for admission as a freshman or a transfer student. Student are a freshman if they completed high school and have not yet enrolled in a regular session at a university or college. Students are a transfer applicant if they have completed high school and have enrolled in a college or university.

Application Materials: The UO International Application for Undergraduate Admission (request a paper application or download the PDF, or apply online); A $50 (U.S. dollars) nonrefundable application fee. Application fees may be paid with a check or money order payable to the University of Oregon or by credit card; Official transcripts for all secondary or high schools student have attended. If the student have attended a college or university, must send transcripts for all courses they have completed. Official copies are issued directly by their school, college, or university. Copies must bear the official stamp or seal of the institution as well as the signature of the appropriate official. If transcripts and certificates are not in English, provide a certified translation of the documents. Facsimile or electronic mail transmissions of transcripts will not be accepted; Official exam results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) tests. The University of Oregon’s institutional code is 4846; SAT scores if students are applying to the architecture program. For all other applicants, submitting SAT and ACT scores is optional; An original bank statement or certificate of balance form. Student bank statement should have been prepared within the past six months; Personal statement and letters of recommendation: If their high school or college performance was affected by extenuating circumstances, please use an additional sheet of paper to summarize these circumstances. Include dates when applicable. Also include two letters of recommendation from teachers or others who can comment on their academic performance; Additional documents- If student currently have F-1 status and are attending another school, college, university, or English language program in the United States, a copy of their I-20.
