This program is the study of people in social groups and institutions. Sociologists study city life, crime and deviance, gender and sexuality, health care systems and legal institutions, culture and the media, and diversity and disparities among social groups. Sociologists are curious about all aspects of society and have developed many methods for learning more about human behavior in groups.

课程要求：

Students must have an advanced coursework in high school and offer credit, where appropriate, for demonstrated prior learning at the college level. All students educated outside of the U.S. must have a proof of English proficiency. A minimum TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 80 (Internet-based test; no section lower than 17), 213 (computer-based test) or 550 (paper-based test) is required for all applicants, although some graduate programs may require higher minimum scores. TOEFL code is 1165. DePaul also accepts an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher in place of the TOEFL. Students applying for certain program who receive a TOEFL score below the minimum requirement and who meet all other requirements for admission to an academic program may be granted conditional admission. Students will be required to enroll in DePauls English Language Academy (ELA) for at least one term and receive a minimum score of 550 on the ELA-administered paper-based TOEFL before registering for academic classes.

A non-refundable application fee is required and may be sent in the form of a current check or money order made payable to DePaul University in U.S. dollars. Application fee is $40 for all undergraduate programs. If the students are applying through online the application fee is $25. Official translations must be issued by a translation agency or university language department. All students educated outside of the U.S. must submit proof of English proficiency with a minimum score In TOEFL and IELTS. All undergraduate and graduate students should submit a statement of purpose. All students must submit a copy of the identification page of their passport with their financial documents.
