【一诺解析】如何成功申请食品专业的美国大学须知

康乃尔大学是美国常春藤盟校中唯一开始食品专业的大学，1864年建校，位于纽约州中部小城伊萨卡(Ithaca)，是个很安静的小城镇，风景也非常漂亮，虽然地理位置不够优越，但是学校的名气足以让你毕业后找到很不错的工作了。Cornell的特点是它的食品教授阵容强大，大都是食品领域的领军人物，学生可以接触到不同背景的教授，也可以拜他们为导师，学校除了提供60个专业课程外，还提供了专业实习和科研机会。学校针对研究生提供 Master of Professional Studies degree (M.P.S.)和Master of Science (M.S.)两种学位，托福最低要求20 Writing, 15 Listening, 20 Reading, 22 Speaking，GRE无底线。
 

加州大学戴维斯分校

加州大学戴维斯分校食品科学在美国的专业排名很靠前，申请的人很多，申请要求IBT80以上，GRE没有底线，同时有专业课程限制，申请者需要有化学/数学类和食品相关课程要求，比如Analytical Geometry and Calculus和Food Microbiology等15门课程要求。另外，学校鼓励国际学生申请，但是研究生不提供任何奖学金。
 

俄亥俄州立大学

俄亥俄州立大学是五大湖的热门学校，比较受中国学生欢迎。目前食品专业中拥有180名本科生和80名研究生，该校的食品与营养系很强，一切以学生为第一位，学校给学生提供了众多的方向选择，申请要求语言分数最低要求TOEFL: 79 IBT; IELTS: 7.0，GRE没有最低要求。
 

德州农工大学

德州农工大学位于德州中部的卡城，是由College Station 与Bryan 两个人口稠密区联合而成的中型都市。德州产油，州政府财务状况一向阔绰，所以学费廉宜，而德州地广人稀，大公司又不少，所以失业率是美国最低的一个州。 TAMU的食品科学系主要提供理Master of Agriculture (M. Agr.)和Master of Science (M.S.)两个学位，每年有春/秋/夏三个入学季，要求申请者至少有两年全日制食品专业学习背景，并且GPA3.0分以上，GRE的要求是1050以上，托福80分以上。
 

注：Master of Agriculture (M. Agr.)

The M.Agr. degree is available for students who want professional, graduate training with a management orientation in the food industry. It is a non-thesis degree, requiring a minimum of 36 semester credit hours, 12 credit hours of which must be taken outside the student’s degree option. Degree candidates are required to complete a professional internship that lasts 3-9 months and is designed to develop problem-solving skills through meaningful, applied, practical experience (usually in the food industry). A professional paper must be prepared and defended during the student’s final examination.

Master of Science (M.S.)

Thesis Option:Students must complete a minimum of 32 semester credit hours of approved courses, as well as research for the preparation and defense of a thesis. An acceptable thesis must reflect a comprehensive understanding of the pertinent literature and express in clear and legible English, the problem(s) for study, methodology, significance, and results of the student’s original research.
 

宾州州立大学

宾州州立大学以 “大”而著称的，是美国10所规模最大的高校之一。宾州州立大学以适应本州及全美国的工业、农业、金融、教育等行业的实际需求为基本定位。PSU的食品系很强，申请截止时间相对偏早要在12月15日前完成申请，食品化学、微生物、工程一应俱全，教授阵容强大。

普渡大学

普度大学位于美国中西部印第安纳州西拉法叶城(West Lafayette)的州立大学。以高质量的教学著称，虽然综合排名比较一般，但在美国的学术声誉一直名列前茅，食品很强，美国食品科学学会(IFT)主席就在Purdue，食品的方向很全面。每个方向的教授都强，申请时不宜错过，要求Minimum GRE verbal ：400/146，Quantitative ：500/144，Analytical Writing ：4.0;托福 77以上，各项小分Reading: 19, Listening: 14, Speaking: 18, Writing: 18。
